The role of Frontend Software Engineer (f/m/x) resides in the Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG, Digital Solution Center Post-Sales & Mobility within the CTO unit in the Customer Self-Service team (CSS). We are a product-centric team responsible for developing and delivering Mercedes me Finance Customer Portal providing an effortless experience to financing and leasing customers. Providing a secure and trustworthy customer journey is one of our most important objectives at MBM. The Customer Portal Europe is live in 15 markets with more than 1 Mio registered customers providing > 40 features with end2end transactions and more to come on the roadmap this year.

We build software solutions based on modular REST based JEE application, microservices and containerization concepts – hosted on & off-premise (Azure). We are responsible for our platforms and built and maintain them according to our needs. We use open source solutions like OpenLiberty, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and Docker and make use of continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines including GitHub, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, BlackDuck, Coverity, etc. We work in different product teams – whoever builds the product is also responsible for the run.

We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to support our product owner and DevSecOps team. We are flexible and always strive to find the best fitting position for our colleagues.



Your tasks will be:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable frontend applications
  
• Responsible for the code base by maintaining and improving code quality and stability
  
• Independent work in a part of a product
  
• Design and implementation of smaller tasks such as new functionalities or minor improvements to existing architecture
  
• Solution-oriented work on new tasks without precise specification
  
• Operation and monitoring of services and systems
  
• Debugging problems of services across multiple levels of the technology stack
  
• Work and communication in multidisciplinary product teams
  
• Cooperation with members of other product teams throughout the company to improve technical standards, tools and processes

What you bring to the table:

• You are a technical graduate with a focus on business informatics, computer science or equivalent
  
• Strong professional experience >3 years in complex Frontend solutions or other agile development projects
  
• Practical experience working with and on micro-frontend approaches with frameworks like Angular 7+, Vue.js, Handlebars, jQuery, TypeScript, JavaScript
  
• Experience in the development of web-based user interfaces for desktop and mobile
  
• Practical experience with design tools like wireframes & web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and have gained experience with CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or alternatives
  
• Practical experience in working with APIs (OpenAPI, OAuth2 or GraphQL), microgateways (APIGEE/KONG), Microservices and (RESTful) API Development
  
• Know-how in testing with frameworks such as Cucumber, Jasmine, Selenium, Mocha or JUnit and Protractor
  
• Experience in DevOps & CI/CD Toolchain (Git, Maven, Jenkins, Blackduck, Sonarqube,..), Platforms (PostgreSQL, Openshift, Docker)
  
• Knowledge of cloud-based Kubernetes services & monitoring solutions, CI/CD with Azure DevOps, GitHub actions or others will be considered as a plus
  
• Having worked with tools such Jira/Confluence, GitHub or ServiceNow for issue tracking and project documentation is a plus
  
• You have good communication skills in English and have the passion to drive transformational changes in the organization using agile methodologies - German is a plus
